The Next Chapter

Welcome to my newest blog. It's about two crazy teenage parents who worked their @$$es off, made someting of themselves and raised two medically involved children to adulthood. We had to say "so long for now" to our son, who was needed in heaven, and our daughter got married. She now has her own family with a beautiful daughter and loving husband. Im my previous blog, adventures ensued while we found our way as empty nesters, but work still beckoned us home... until now. After 41 years of marriage, kids and work, we're finally retired, now what? Well, we always wanted to travel and it's finally that time! The world looks a bit different than it did just two years ago so out of country travel is not for us currently. Maybe when people come to their senses and stop the madness we will revisit that decision, but we aren't there yet. I'm not being political, I'm just being realistic. So far since our, earlier than expected retirements, we have done two Texas state parks and two weeks on South Padre Island. Actually, we are driving home as I write this. It was a great time on the beach with no particular agenda. We rented a lovely little condo with a spectacular view. We ate well, maybe a little too well, watched fireworks, saw dolphin, went fishing and just generally did what we wanted, when we wanted. We've already begun to plan for a return visit, but there are a lot of places in this geat USA to explore and we will, soon, be on to bigger adventures. By the way, we're loving retirement!
